As a descendant of Lt. Col. William B. Travis, fighting for what I love is in my DNA. I love God, Texas, and the life I live here with my husband Dan. It's why I'm running for office - to stand up for conservative principles. From the age of 16, I began fighting for the unborn and I've worked since then in politics and in Republican campaigns - before it was cool to be a Republican in Texas.
My husband and I have 7 children and 2 grandchildren. Two of the children graduated from Abilene Christian University and have pursued jobs in the health care industry.
Our way of life and the future for our children and grandchildren are at severe risk from forces in Austin and in Washington, DC. I've seen what works and what doesn't work. We cannot afford to have someone represent us who thinks that compromise is noble. When it comes to protecting our families, there is no compromise.
I don't just want us to keep Texas red - I want to ensure that we truly keep Texas and not give it away to corporations and special interests outside of Texas who want to take all that is ours.
I've partnered with many across the state to stop the sexualizing of our children and to reform sex ed curriculum by reducing porn in schools and getting rid of the obscenity exemption. Children need protection.
Additionally, I've done the following:
- Helped advance the conservative agenda of Texas, focusing on education, election integrity, border security, ending taxpayer-funded lobbying, and transportation
- Worked and volunteered on local / state / national Republican races across the country
- Served on key Republican Party of Texas committees to help craft the party rules, legislative priorities, and platform
- Fought for monument protection at the Alamo and other sites to preserve our heritage
- Had the following positions: Texas Sen. Phil Gramm's Constituent Relations Director, Vice President of Legislation and Programs for the Abilene Republican Women, Head of Programs for the Taylor County Republican Party, Vice President of Programs of Big Country Conservative Coalition
